Fall Semester of 2024:

During my final semester at Iowa State University, I took my capstone classes, representing my ability to apply my coursework to real-life situations. In each of my classes, we worked closely with a client of my professor's choosing and spent the semester developing strategic communication plans designed to address the needs of our clients.

Capstone Project: Sit by Me Communication Campaign

In my Brand Storytelling class, my team and I collaborated with the startup Sit by Me to develop a strategic communication campaign to foster partnerships with local coffee shops. Our goal was to position Sit by Me as an innovative solution for coffee shops seeking to expand their customer base and build stronger communities.

Throughout the semester, we created a comprehensive plan to address Sit By Me's challenges in finding sponsorships. We included tactics like targeted messaging, social media schedules, email marketing, print ads, and a press release for industry publications like Roast Magazine. Additionally, we highlighted marketing strategies such as key app features and customer flow analytics to address coffee shops’ unique challenges.

This client project allowed me to hone my skills in brand storytelling, campaign development, and working with real-world clients to help create solutions. Below, you will find links to the final presentation and client book, which details the development of our campaign.

Capstone Project: ISU Wellbeing Communication Campaign

In my PR Campaigns course, my team and I collaborated with Iowa State University's Wellbeing program to create a promotional campaign for their Adventure 2 program. Our mission was to enhance awareness and engagement with the program, which focuses on promoting physical, mental, and social well-being among faculty.

Throughout the semester, we developed a strategic plan to achieve key objectives: increasing faculty registration in the Adventure 2 program from 36% to 38% and raising the number of faculty completing the wellness assessment from 12% to 17% by December 10, 2024.

This project strengthened my skills in campaign planning, creative solutions, and working against a deadline. Below, you will find links to our final campaign presentation and report, showcasing the work we completed for ISU Wellbeing.

Past Work

Throughout my time at Iowa State University, I have gained valuable skills in experience in diverse media writing forms, including press releases, social media content, feature articles, and campaign messaging. I have also worked on my creative skills with the help of Adobe Creative Suite. Below are pieces I've done throughout my college career that showcase my Public Relations knowledge.

 Photography

Photography has been a hobby of mine since I was 14 years old. Growing up, I took film and digital photography classes, and my love for photography also introduced me to Photoshop at an early age.  To the right is a photospread of my personal favorite pictures.

03

 Adobe Premiere

During my sophomore year of college, I took Digital Video Production and worked with Premiere frequently. Our coursework consisted of making multiple videos, such as how-tos, news packages, documentaries, and more. Attached is my favorite project of the semester that is meant to be a parody of Reality TV.

04

Adobe and Canva

My most valuable skill is my work with Adobe and Canva software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. In my classes, we work hands-on with every software. I have experience creating for both print and online media and have begun to hone my creativity with the help of this technology. Here are some links to my favorite work.

PR Planning

My favorite work to do is PR planning. Whether it's mapping out communication strategies or navigating unforeseen challenges with creativity, I excel in crafting campaigns that leave a lasting impact. I have linked two of my favorite PR planning projects.
